Smart home technology (home automation, domotics etc) can devise systems that enable people with disabilities or older people to achieve a quality of life that might otherwise have been inconceivable. The CUSTODIAN software suite has been developed to design specified smart home systems that meet the identified needs of people with disabilities and older people.
